Custom tap handle design is a lot more specialized than you might think – there are many factors to consider – a couple are as follows: The size can be no wider than 3″ due to the location of the tap handle next to the other taps – if your custom tap handle is too large it will interfere with the tap next to it so the bartender will turn your tap to the side. The depth should also be no larger that 3″. The height should be on average of about 12″ although we have made some that are 16″ high but need to be careful of designing the tap handle that is too top heavy. The weight of the tap handle should not exceed 16oz or 1lb. If the tap is too heavy it may tend to lean forward or backwards turning on the beer faucet – this is never good.
When we design a custom tap handle we take this into consideration but never truly know until we make the prototype. We also design custom beer displays, LED signs, neon signs, and tackers.
